Meet Sandi S., IPR’s Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Area Consultant

Meet Sandi S., IPR’s Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Area Consultant

Sandi has been an Area Consultant with IPR since 2016.

Sandi loves the Cincinnati area because there is an abundance of things to do between Kentucky, Ohio and Indiana (Tri-State area),  because of the many restaurants, the excellent private and public schools and of course their three Professional Sports Teams (Cincinnati Bengals, Cincinnati Reds, FC Cincinnati Soccer)!

Speaking of Cincinnati: Did you know that an unusual chili spiced with cinnamon and chocolate and served on spaghetti is considered “Cincinnati chili”?

Meeting people from all over the world, learning from their culture and sharing samples of ours, being able to help them get acclimated into Cincinnati and showing off her wonderful city are a few of the things she loves about being an Area Consultant.

Sandi  especially enjoys hearing from the families she assisted once they have settled: one relocating employee wrote her a note just to tell her how happy they were to be in the U.S. and how much their kids loved their new school!

Being with her husband and three teenagers is Sandi’s greatest pleasure and she loves watching and attending her kids sporting events.

Introducing Camilla C.,  Raleigh, NC Area Consultant

Introducing Camilla C.,  Raleigh, NC Area Consultant

Originally from Sweden, Camilla moved to North Carolina with her family in 2008 and lived in Japan for a couple years.

Camilla enjoys the Raleigh area. As she states it: it is a terrific place to raise a family. Housing is affordable, public schools are top ranked in the country, there is very little crime. The weather is almost always pleasant - there are endless opportunities to be active outdoors, year-round. The NC beaches and mountains are just hours away. Research Triangle Park brings an international, modern flair to the area, which combined with the Southern, friendly, lifestyle makes the Raleigh area just a wonderful place to live. In fact, Raleigh keeps being voted as one of the top places to live in America year after year.

Camilla has been an Area Consultant with IPR since 2018 and loves IPR’s strive to offer world class service and to always exceed expectations.

Her favorite thing about working with relocating employees is how she can take stress off their shoulders. Having moved overseas herself several times, Camilla knows how taxing it can be and wants to always be one step ahead so they don’t have to worry about missing important steps in their settling in phase. No wonder the Relocating Employees she worked with rave about Camilla: “Camilla was always providing great recommendations and was able to accommodate our changing schedule. She listened to our wants, and helped us narrow down our search. She provided clear and concise information. Camilla was fantastic, and made the experience so much better.”

One of Camilla’s memorable moments as an Area Consultant was to help a family from overseas find a preschool for their 3-year old. In this area, many preschools are academically oriented, but this family was looking for a play-based preschool with a focus on the outdoors. Both parents grew up in a rural environment and wanted to pass on the love for wildlife and animals to their daughter. Camilla found a preschool at a farm where the children get to take care of the farm animals (and even llamas!). It was a perfect match, and even more so since the school Director was from their home country so the little girl could even speak her native language and did truly light up in that environment!

Fun fact about Camilla: she runs marathons and just reached a long-time goal to qualify for, and finish, Boston Marathon – an amazing experience. This was her 8th marathon and counting. Way to go, Camilla!

Meet Elaine D., Baltimore, MD Area Consultant

Meet Elaine D., Baltimore, MD Area Consultant

Elaine has been an IPR Area Consultant since October 2016.

She loves Baltimore because it is such an eclectic city, made up of small neighborhoods and filled with great cultural, historical and fun activities: museums, theatres, festivals, parks, the harbor, and so much more!

Fun facts about Baltimore: the city is home to some special treats such as Berger's cookies, Maryland crabs and the snowball (ice treat invented in the Industrial Revolution).  It is also the birthplace to the American National Anthem as it was written by Francis Scott Key as the flag was flying at Fort McHenry.

When assisting Relocating Employees, nothing makes Elaine happier than helping them find that "perfect" home: “ The joy on their faces is priceless.”

Elaine recalls many memorable moments in her Area Consultant’s experience. However, the memory that stands out the most is meeting the mom of one of her very first Relocating Employees. Not only  was this the first time the  Relocating Employee left her country, but the first time ever to be on her own.  When her mom came to visit, she asked to meet Elaine.  She shared that knowing that Elaine took care of her daughter as if she was her own made it a little easier for her to be so far away. In Elaine’s own words: “That is when you realize that this job is more than a "job" as we can have a huge impact on their new lives.”

No wonder Relocating Employees love working with her: ‘It has been an absolute pleasure working with you’.

In her spare time, Elaine enjoys traveling, kickboxing and conducting wine tastings.

Meet Patty S., San Diego, CA Area Consultant

Patty has been assisting Employees relocating with IPR to ‘America’s Finest City’ for 7 exciting years!

She particularly enjoys the mild sunny weather and the open-minded, easy-going lifestyle of the people who live in San Diego. As she notes, ‘men love the fact that the dress code for restaurants in the San Diego area (with very few exceptions) is very relaxed.  No ties! No jackets!’  San Diego is proud of its many world class beaches, all open to the public.  Patty loves to dine at one of the many beach restaurants and walk on the sand afterward. She also often visits her favorite local aquarium overlooking the ocean.

What Patty likes most about working with IPR is the feeling that she makes a real difference in someone's life and, of course, showing off the best of the city she loves to newcomers! ‘Many say that being here is a "once-in-a-lifetime" experience’.

One of Patty’s most memorable moments as an IPR Area Consultant happened during a Sunday area tour with a young man from New Delhi. He mentioned how much he would miss playing cricket while in the U.S. as he assumed that cricket was unheard of in San Diego.  He was stunned that Patty knew of cricket fields where teams formed by expats from all over the world were practicing at that very moment. Patty changed course, took him to the cricket field and asked the team leader if he needed a pitcher from Delhi.  The young man was immediately swept away to the field.  He was a smiling member of the team 20 minutes later!

Fun fact about Patty: she used to work as a diamond buyer in Antwerp, Belgium for a San Diego company.
