Relocating employees, and their accompanying family members, face unique challenges in host country living. An employee concerned about their acclimatization, or their family’s adjustment, cannot devote full attention to their professional role. Our goal is to reduce the anxiety and stress of getting settled, so work productivity starts sooner rather than later. Through pre-assignment planning to following up on after-move details, IPR’s Destination Services are specially designed not only for the relocating employee, but their family members as well. We provide as little, or as much, service authorized by the employer and necessary for a comfortable transition.
During pre-arrival counseling, an IPR Area Consultant dialogues with the relocating family and acts as a resource, often researching and answering specific questions long before their first in-person meeting. The Area Consultant confirms arrival details and provides an organized itinerary for the authorized services.
Rental Housing, Orientation, and School Search Assistance
IPR offers a full service suite of arrival support. This typically begins with setting realistic expectations regarding the host location and authorized services. We assist with finding suitable rental accommodations in accordance with the relocating employee’s personal preferences and employer’s housing policy. An area orientation allows for a focused home search of the most appropriate communities meeting their needs. In conjunction, or as a stand-alone service, IPR can present local schooling options that meet a family’s educational needs. Also, we facilitate settlement into the host community by assisting with banking and governmental compliance requirements, including application for a U.S. Social Security card and driver’s license. IPR helps to solve the most pressing issues and in the most effective order.
